COMMUNITY OVERVIEW

The Chemawawin Regional Centre is located in Easterville/Chemawawin in picturesque Easterville, Manitoba. With a rich history of resiliency and determination, Chemawawin has embraced the challenge of economic renewal as an opportunity to enrich the lives and brighten the futures of each and every member of the community.
On June 17, 2002 Chemawawin Cree Nation Chief and Council and University College of the North formerly known as Keewatin Community College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create the establishment of the Chemawawin Regional Centre (Campus) in Easterville, Manitoba.
The Regional Centre (University Campus) opened its doors in September 2002 and began providing community-based post secondary and adult education opportunities for its membership.
